Everything was lovely, enjoyed our such wonderful stay. The japanese-style twin room had an electric kettle, climate control, and TV, facilities worked for us. The location was marvellous and absolutely perfect - really close to the areas of interest, and the train / bus stations. Easily reached Hakkaku-Tei, located within easy walking distance of the hotel, had lunch/dinner there.

I had the most incredible experience staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan in Takayama. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly landlady who showed me to a beautiful room overlooking a serene garden. The room was impeccably decorated with tasteful corners reminiscent of historic Japanese houses. The futons and yukatas were already prepared, making it easy for me to relax and unwind.
Although the rooms didn't have an ensuite bathroom, the shared traditional Japanese onsen more than made up for it. The etiquette of the onsen was fascinating to learn and it was a rejuvenating experience.
